First Contract of the summer.
August 2nd is when I had a photo booth for a birthday party of 10 people outside in the rain but under a tent.
So the good news is... YES we can do photo booth HOWEVER it is not so easy. I had to wear a face shield, it was hard to see because of the condensation, I had to constantly "Purell" my hands. I did put out some props but only ones that could be wiped with Lysol wipes.
Doing the setup with a mask on got a little hot at times but that's life now.
It was a private residence and I asked if I need to use the bathroom where do I go, the answer was: Tim Horton's. Nobody was allowed inside the house.
I understand and you have to respect people's wishes, nobody wants to get sick and I would really hate to be the source.

I am very happy that things are picking up, as contracts go this was easy with only 10 people. Now that Quebec is allowed 250 persons let's see how that goes...time to invest in more Purell and Lysol.

DJ WORTH $1 000 000.00

So I was doing a corporate Gala downtown a few weeks ago, I was referred as the DJ by another company. They tell me that they just need a DJ NO speakers "we have the house system" - first warning bell in my head goes off! So I ask are you sure, most house systems are just for talking during a conference, here you will have people eating and all kinds of noises. No no no we tested the house system its great. The day of the event comes I show up with my console NO SPEAKERS and was hoping for at least 2 speakers on the sides - nope, just the speakers in the ceiling. BIG warning bell goes off. The audio visual (AV) guy from the hotel told them that the system was enough...it was not. I convinced they to rent two speakers from the AV of the hotel for me to play my intros, it sounded so bad. The AV guy had a mixer with mics connected to the house system including the podium mic. People entered the room and the MC starts to talk, YOU DO NOT HEAR A SINGLE THING, it is as though no speakers are in the room at all. I passed her my mic, now you hear her speaking. I had to patch the output of the AV's mixer into mine so the other mics could be heard. I also had to hand them 2 cordless mics of mine, the AV's stuff was useless, we could not hear a thing.
So tell me what is a DJ like that worth?
If I was not there is would have been a total disaster.
There are so many DJs just like me, the easiest thing we do is play music but the experience we have is priceless!
The moral of the story, pay your DJ, he is probably worth $1 000 000.00

I was part of the Intercontinental Hotel open house they had this Saturday feb 2, meet some very nice customers and some great vendors. One of those vendors was Montebello Pâtisserie, she have me a special pastry that is around only until Easter...OMG was it so good!!! Here are some pictures from the day, the hotel put out some sushi and pastries for the customers.
