This year's final harvest from the Cober Garden 🌱

Building on the garden’s 2025 launch, our Green Team took things a step further in 2026 by growing plants from seed and planting both spring and fall vegetables. Team members got a hands-on look at the full growing cycle, from germination to harvest, while growing a variety of fresh greens.

The best part? It all happened right outside our Kitchener facility in three 4 × 8 ft raised beds built from repurposed pallets and scrap wood. A small patch with a big purpose, bringing sustainability to life right here at Cober!

From intern to Account Manager, Sarah’s career in print is only getting started 🌱

We’re excited to spotlight Sarah Benney, who first joined Cober as an intern in May 2023 while completing her Bachelor of Technology in Graphic Communications Management - GCM at Toronto Metropolitan University. After graduating, she joined the team full-time in May 2024.

What initially caught Sarah’s attention? Sustainability. Cober’s FSC certification and focus on sustainability stood out to her. During her internship, she worked with our Technology & Prepress teams, documenting workflows and automation processes while preparing files for print.

Today, Sarah manages approximately 50 accounts across industries including pharmaceutical, agriculture and hospitality. From estimates and proofing through production and delivery, she coordinates customer communication and project details across internal teams. Her days can range from desk work to more than 12,000 steps on the production floor, and it’s that variety she enjoys most.

Beyond her day-to-day role, Sarah is an active member of Cober’s Green Team and Culture Club. One of her favourite experiences was leading the Green Team’s Adopt a Plant campaign, giving her a chance to “use the other side of my brain a little more.”

Sarah is also the first in her family to pursue a career in print and the first to earn a Bachelor of Technology: “I am a woman in STEM, and I think it is so cool to say that.”

Outside of Cober, Sarah enjoys weight training, walks, exploring downtown, discovering local restaurants and spending time with her mom’s two pugs, Tucker and Pippa. She’s also recently taken up reading, especially fantasy, romance and drama.

Sarah’s curiosity, initiative and willingness to try new things make her an exciting part of the next generation shaping our industry!

BBQ season isn’t over until we say it is 🔥

One of those days that reminds us how good it is to step away from the work, fire up the grill, and spend some time together.

As summer starts to wind down, we’re making the most of these moments!

Behind The Scenes: Precision in motion 🦾

From the first fold to the final stack, the Heidelberg North America Stahlfolder TH 82 with StackStar P brings serious automation to the finishing process.

Sheets move through the folder at impressive speed, before the StackStar P takes over, precisely picking, placing and palletizing signature packages to keep production flowing smoothly.

It’s a pretty impressive bit of choreography when paper, folding technology and robotics all work in sync.

Fold. Stack. Repeat.

From owning a gym in Brazil to leading one of Cober's most time-sensitive operations 📬

We're excited to spotlight Maicon Ricardo, Mailing Manager, whose career journey proves that adaptability is one of the most valuable skills you can bring to any industry.

Maicon joined Cober in 2025 as a Mailing Coordinator, stepping into the role with the opportunity to learn from our previous Mailing Manager before officially taking over the department just a few months later. Today, he leads a team of six, overseeing one of the final and most critical stages of every project before it reaches our customers.

Before moving to Canada, Maicon's career took him down several different paths. He earned a degree in Social Communication and spent over a decade working in advertising agencies across video production, creative design, and print. But his entrepreneurial side also led him somewhere completely different: building and operating his own fitness business in Brazil. The experience of owning a gym strengthened his skills in leadership, organization, customer relationships, and adapting quickly when challenges arose, all qualities he brings to his role at Cober today.

For Maicon, every day is different. His team collaborates across Sales, Account Management, Prepress, Production, Shipping, and Warehousing to ensure every mailing leaves Cober accurately, efficiently, and on time. His leadership philosophy is simple: "Don't panic. Trust your team. Organization is key, and prioritizing the work ensures everything moves out on time."

While many people think mailing is as simple as putting a letter in an envelope, Maicon knows there's much more behind the scenes. From cleansing complex mailing databases and navigating Canada Post and USPS requirements to helping clients optimize personalized campaigns, his role blends technology, strategy, and customer partnership.

Maicon's journey, from living in New Zealand to running his own gym in Brazil and now building a new chapter in Canada, is a reflection of his willingness to embrace change and keep learning. His advice? "Always keep the hunger to learn and adapt. Be able to reinvent yourself."

Maicon's curiosity, positive outlook, and ability to build strong relationships make him an invaluable part of the Cober team.

Last week, on National Vanilla Ice Cream Day, we shared over 200 Dairy Queen Blizzards with our team as a small thank you for everything they do. It was the perfect excuse to cool off, connect, and celebrate the people who make Cober such a great place to be!
