Local knowledge and community talent leading the way on a national stage. 🐺 🦈

When Spirit Bear Lodge guides Aaron Bechard and Cat Cowan discovered a rare Pacific Sleeper Shark carcass in our Territory, they set up a camera trap that captured unprecedented footage of coastal sea wolves scavenging the deep-sea species.

That discovery is now the center of a new mini-documentary produced with CBC British Columbia, titled "The Wild Diet of Sea Wolves."

We are proud to see local voices and community members shaping this project behind and in front of the lens:

Aaron Bechard – Local Guide & Discovery Lead

Sierra Hall – Featured interviewee from the Kitasoo Xai'xais Stewardship Authority

Dean Duncan – Camera Operator

Cassandra Duncan – Associate Producer

This film bridges local observation, marine science, and the deep-rooted Indigenous stewardship that protects our lands and waters.
