About the Kami Project
Kami reflects Champion Iron’s ambition to develop a mining project that will benefit future generations and contribute to decarbonizing the steel industry.
✅Creating quality jobs: The project has the potential to create hundreds of quality jobs for Labrador West residents and Indigenous communities.
✅Investing locally: Kami’s high-purity iron ore presents a significant opportunity for economic growth in Newfoundland and Labrador, particularly within the Lab West community.
✅ Environmental commitment: The project will undergo a rigorous environmental assessment from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador before a final investment decision and construction can be considered.
✅Ongoing development: Champion Iron expects to continue refining the Project, engage with stakeholders, including prospects to improve economics, advance permitting, and work on strategic partnership opportunities prior to considering a final investment decision.
