NOW HIRING!! LOG LOADER/HOE CHUCKER

Role:
This position will be responsible for navigating the terrain, stacking logs, and dragging the felled trees towards the nearest road, and loading logs onto trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
• Safely operate Log Loader/Hoe Chucker, as required to meet daily plan and production targets
• Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
• Maintain equipment in good operating condition, reporting, and logging maintenance requirements or concerns
• Complete production reporting and other documentation as required
• Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
• Operate other heavy equipment, if required
• Follow all site, company and client specific safety protocols, policies, and procedures

Position Requirements:
• Must be able to work with a grapple skidder, developing safe trails in steep ground to accommodate the skidder in challenging terrain
• Maintain 3-point contact on and off machine
• Ability to use multiple functions while operating equipment
• Monitor equipment performance while operating
• Situational awareness at all times
• Maneuver safely over a variety of terrain
• Ability to swing and control logs
• Ability to perform boom assisted turns
• Physically able to get up and down machine
• Able to perform simple maintenance and change attachments
• Hazard awareness knowledge and understanding

Qualifications/Experience:
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Minimum 3 years of logging equipment experience
• Experience in steep slope logging operations

Key Responsibilities:
• Safely operate Steep Slope Hoe Chucker, as required to meet daily plan and production targets
• Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
• Maintain equipment in good operating condition, reporting, and logging maintenance requirements or concerns
• Complete production reporting and other documentation as required

NOW HIRING!! HARVESTING SUPERVISOR!

Role:
The Kaatza Group of Companies is seeking a Harvesting Supervisor to join our west coast operations in TFL 44. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of a skilled workforce including:
• Adhering to the Group’s safety, environmental management systems, and contractual compliance
• Supervising a unionized workforce
• Working closely with the Maintenance Managers to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly
• Managing the responsible use of equipment and vehicles
• Assisting with the development of falling, yarding, loading, and hauling plans
• Monitoring and reporting daily and monthly production targets
• Reviewing and approving timecards
• Dispatching of truck fleet and lowbedding of equipment
• Conducting and documenting safety meetings
• Participating in weekly customer meetings
• Ensuring customer metrics are being met with a focus on continuous improvement

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated leadership in safety
• Ability to communicate effectively, and develop effective working relationships
• Minimum of 5 years of coastal logging experience in cable yarding, steep slope, helicopter, and ground-based harvesting
• Extensive knowledge of various equipment types and capabilities
• Familiarity with USW Coast Master Agreement, WSBC and BCFSC regulations
• Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Teams, and other business applications
