Did you know:
1. BC Hydro's electrical system is made up of about a million wooden poles. These poles last between 30 and 50 years depending on density and type of wood, the amount of rain in the area, the presence of termites, ants, and the most destructive of all woodpeckers.
2. BC Hydro's 50' distribution poles cost 7000$ each and 100' transmission poles up to 75000$ each to replace.
3. In areas where woodpeckers are problematic - BC Hydro will use concrete poles

Article on cbc.ca today 'Craft Beer creates a new craving for Canadian hops". Fun facts: approximately 50K per acre to get going and about three years for plants to reach full maturity; area in production is increasing every year; brewers are loving the 'fresh and local' and think it is worth switching from US hops to locally grown hops even if they are a bit more expensive.

The wind was pretty crazy last night, and we lost power again for a few hours. We try our best to help you keep the power on at your place. A full truck of power poles just rolled into our yard yesterday. We have lengths from 20' to 40', treated and ready to go.
