- 3 hours of mind-numbing work every Sunday cobbling together a weekly Sales report.
- Unusual 2020 sales patterns made for difficult comparison to 2021 sales.

👉 Power Query to the rescue - 30 csv files appended and transformed with relative ease.
👉 Custom calendar created to allow reporting based on a 4-4-5 fiscal calendar.
👉 Sales & Profit formulas created.
👉 Calculation groups developed to allow for some slicer magic and the ability to compare to 2019 or 2020 data.
👉 And finally, some basic visuals created in Power BI.

Can Power BI be used to manage your inventory? This was a question that came up last week... 📦📦📦

I recently worked with a food manufacturing company that is:
👉in the middle of an acquisition
👉using 2 separate ERP systems & transitioning to a 3rd system
👉planning & forecasting their production using Excel

First step was to build out a data model connected to their various data sources, that was set up to refresh at a click of a button.
