Working on a memoir project lately has reminded me that every life holds stories worth preserving.
I’ve been helping a client turn handwritten memories, family stories, life lessons, heartbreak, humour, and personal reflections into a meaningful legacy book for future generations. It is powerful work.
One thing I tell people often: you do not need to be famous to write a memoir. The most meaningful stories are usually the real ones.
Top 3 memoir writing tips:
1. Start before you feel ready
Write the memories down now. Handwritten notes, voice recordings, rough drafts. Just begin.
2. Keep your authentic voice
The best memoirs sound human, honest, and personal. Good editing should preserve your voice, not remove it.
3. Write for future generations
The stories you think are “small” today may become treasured family history tomorrow.
Your story matters. Your life experiences, lessons, struggles, and victories are part of your legacy.
If you have ever thought about writing your life story or preserving family memories, I would love to help.
