Communiqué de presse - Situation en Haiti:
Le 23 mai 2024, Ottawa – Comme la situation de sécurité en Haïti demeure instable, le gouvernement du Canada continue de prendre des mesures pour aider les personnes touchées par la violence et la détérioration des conditions de sécurité.

Aujourd’hui, l’honorable Marc Miller, ministre de l’Immigration, des Réfugiés et de la Citoyenneté, a annoncé des mesures temporaires pour soutenir les membres de la famille de citoyens, citoyennes, résidents permanents et résidentes permanentes du Canada qui ont quitté Haïti, ainsi que les ressortissantes et ressortissants d’Haïti qui se trouvent déjà au Canada et qui ne sont pas en mesure de rentrer chez eux.

À partir du 23 mai 2024, les Haïtiens et Haïtiennes au Canada ayant un statut de résident temporaire valide peuvent demander gratuitement un permis de travail ouvert, un permis d’études ou une prolongation de leur statut. Cela inclut les membres de la famille de toutes les nationalités qui sont arrivés avec un statut de résident temporaire grâce aux départs assistés d’Haïti. En outre, les personnes admissibles pourront bénéficier pendant trois mois de la couverture du Programme fédéral de santé intérimaire.

👉🏻A total of 33,373 devices were randomly searched by CBSA officers between Nov. 1, 2017 and Dec. 31, 2021.

The Canada Border Services Agency searched the phones and electronic devices of over 33,000 travellers before a court case struck down the border agency’s ability to conduct random searches.

🌟 As of the 4th of July 2022, people who have a super visa also have the option to request to extend their stay by up to 2 years while in Canada. This means super visa holders will now be able to stay in Canada for up to 7 consecutive years.
