School starts in four sleeps, for most of you. Here's your final nudge.

If you haven't grabbed the free back to school checklist yet, the link is in our bio and it takes about seven seconds to sign up. It covers everything, clothing, supplies, home zones, routines, admin, meal prep, and even a section the kids can do themselves. Print it out, stick it on the fridge, and work through it this weekend.

And if you look at that checklist and feel completely overwhelmed by how much is still left to do, that's okay. That's exactly what we're here for.

You wanna know how I'm feeling about back to school? Because I have a lot going on up here this week.

Summer always goes faster than I want it to. The slow mornings, the later bedtimes, the spontaneous adventures, all four of us in the same space with nowhere we absolutely have to be. I hold onto every bit of it for as long as I possibly can.

And then September arrives and everything shifts at once (you already know what I'm going to say!).
The lunches.
The routines.
The mornings *with* a timeline.
The girls heading out the door with their backpacks on and me standing there thinking about how fast it all goes.

Buuut I love what September brings too. The fresh start energy, the new notebooks and office supplies that I might have bought when we did back-to-school shopping, the way everyone seems to melt into the routine and schedule. It's a big family reset, together. There's something really beautiful about that and I really do look forward to it every year.

And this time I'm feeling all of it WAY more than ever before as both girls move into school full-time. The bittersweetness of still being in summer while September is knocking at the door. For my girls, for our family, and for this business too because something really exciting is launching on Tuesday that I genuinely cannot wait to share with you.

More on that Tuesday. For now I'm going to go soak up every last bit of August, I hope you are too. ☀

The back-to-school transition is happening next week whether we're ready for it or not. And here's what I want you to remember during it... be patient with yourself and with your kids/students.

Every single child handles this transition differently.
Some dive right in and thrive,
Some put up resistance for the first little while,
Some thrive for a week and then hit a wall,
None of that means anything is wrong, it just means they're human.

With a diploma in early childhood education and over twenty years of experience working with children (in multiple capacities, scenarios, environments & situations!) I can tell you with full confidence that no two kids' brains work the same way. The goal isn't a perfect transition, it's a supported one. And if YOU need support, our DMs are always open.

Here's my one practical tip for making next week feel more manageable: do everything the night before that you possibly can. Everything.

👉 Outfit laid out including underwear and socks.
👉 Backpack packed with all supplies labeled and ready to go.
👉 Lunches made or prepped and waiting in the fridge.
👉 Ice packs in the freezer.
👉 Shoes set out by the door.
👉 Breakfast menu decided so there are no morning negotiations.
👉 Whatever works for your family, just know what it is before the morning hits.

When the morning starts from a place of ready instead of feeling behind from the moment you get up, it sets the WHOLE day up for success. As a parent of nearly ten years and a childcare provider for just as long, believe me on this one.
