Two years ago, I started an experiment.

I looked around Instagram and didn't see a lot of businesses like mine here. What I saw was mostly gimmicky advertising posts and tactics that made me cringe, not to mention more of the same marketing drivel that you can find anywhere online. So I thought — what if I just showed up differently? What if I shared my actual values and talked about what I believe in, and skipped the trends and the noise?

I gave it a real shot. And for those of you struggling with the same challenge, here's what I learned: being everywhere isn't the goal. Being intentional is.

Instagram was never my place. I don't love the platform, I don't love the company behind it, and no amount of showing up differently is going to change that.

So I'm giving myself permission to stop.

This will be my last business post here (and on Facebook). I'm not disappearing — I'm just going where the conversations actually feel good.

You can find me on LinkedIn, where I'm sharing what I'm learning about building websites that actually work for everyone. I'm also occasionally putting out videos on YouTube about web design, accessibility, and running a values-driven business.

Or you can just (gasp) get in touch directly — I'd love that.

Everything's in my linktr.ee (link in bio).

Here's to doing less, but better. 🤍

Here's the thing you already know: AI can write content in seconds. But it all sounds... pretty much the same.

Tomorrow I'm hosting a conversation with two brilliant women about why your real voice is actually your superpower, and how to find it.

It's free. It's casual. And it might be exactly what you need to hear right now.

Comment ME and I'll send you the link to register!

Rebuilding your life and routine after a big move is... tricky. For lots of (probably? Maybe?) valid reasons, excuses, whatever, and for both work and personal lifestyle.

Big shout-out to friend and colleague Shawn following a chat yesterday that reminded me that something might be missing - and how these little reminders can have a big impact on your day.

So, for you, some geese.

Sometimes the thing holding you back isn't strategy—it's trying to force yourself into a process that doesn't work for your brain.

Full case study in bio.

Taking this off LinkedIn for a minute. A creator I follow is dealing with algorithmic suppression—her posts are being disappeared, her follower count is being artificially reduced, and she's asking for amplification. If you're on LinkedIn, go read her post, react, comment, repost. In case this link doesn't work, she is Lisa Hurley, author and podcaster and her Linkedin profile is . Here's the link:

My post is gone. Again. I recently wrote a LinkedIn post, which, ironically, was about algorithmic suppression. When I went looking for it, I realized it had been disappeared. (Yes, I used that construction deliberately. Because it feels like a clandestine digital abduction has taken place.) The pos...

Ever launched a site with a countdown timer… and no actual launch?
I have. It was chaos.

Years ago, a client wanted a big splash. Launch date. Countdown. Surge of excitement.

The only problem? Nothing was actually ready.

The website looked good.

But the payment system? Not set up.
Email sequences? Unfinished.
The course? Still being written.

And the countdown timer?
Oh, that thing mocked us 😤

We reset it not once, not twice, but four times. Each time it ticked down, we scrambled harder—while the site sat live and empty.

The product itself was amazing. The launch strategy flopped.
And it taught me something I've never forgotten:
Artificial urgency doesn't serve anyone.

Deadlines don't make a product ready. They just make people panic.

Now when I work on launches, I ask different questions:
Is the experience tested?
Is the messaging clear?
Is the client actually ready to welcome people in?

If not, we pause. We skip the countdown. We launch quietly, confidently, when things are truly ready.

Your launch should be the beginning of trust—not the end of a breakdown ✨

You don't need urgency to be impressive. You need clarity, confidence, AND a site that's ready to work.

Your website is... okay.
Not great. Not terrible. Just... there.
You know it's not doing what it should. People say they like it, but nobody's booking calls. You can't figure out why.

Here's the thing: most "okay" websites have the same 5 problems. And they're fixable.

I created a free 5-day email series called the Website Wake-Up Call to walk you through exactly what's broken and how to fix it.

📧 Each morning, you get one short video (under 10 min) covering:
Day 1: Why your amazing business isn't getting clients online
Day 2: The trust test your site needs to pass
Day 3: Making it easy for everyone to say yes
Day 4: Future-proofing without the tech headache
Day 5: Your next steps (and when to get help)

No fluff. No overwhelm. Just practical stuff you can actually use.

By day 5, you'll know exactly what's keeping your website from working - and what to do about it.

Want the wake-up call? Comment or DM me WAKEUP and I'll send you the link. 👇

"I spent years and thousands with web designers. Broken links. I'd given up." — Dr. Keirsten Taillon

You've been burned. Maybe multiple times.
Hired someone. Paid well. Got something that was... fine-ish? But had problems you couldn't fix.

Or they disappeared. Or it looked pretty but didn't work. Or they made you feel stupid asking questions.

Now: Your site doesn't reflect your business. You're scared to try again.
What if you invest $10K and end up in the same spot?

You're not the problem.
Keirsten had given up entirely.
Been through multiple designers. Had the broken links to prove it.
Took one more chance.

Six months later:
📈 196% user growth
📈 62 → 466 organic visitors (7.5x)
📈 Actually works for everyone
Her words: "Blown away."

We're not magical (okay, maybe a little ✨)
We just built it to actually FUNCTION. Not just look pretty in screenshots.

If you've been burned and you're hesitant - I get it.

You land on a site. Popup covers everything. "Give me your email!"

You haven't read a word. Don't know if you're on the right site. Already trying to get to third base 🙄 This is already bad UX (user experience) but wait, it gets worse - because it's not *just* annoying:

❌ Screen reader users: Stuck. Can't dismiss it. Site totally inaccessible.
❌ Phone + bad connection: Popup loads first. Can't see underneath.
❌ Keyboard navigation: X button might not work.

Business owner has no idea.
Tested with their mouse. Worked fine.
Blocking 25% of visitors entirely.
"But email lists!"

Sure. But not people frantically clicking yes to escape your roadblock.
Those aren't subscribers. Those are hostages.

Let people look around first.
Then make it easy for interested people to connect.
✅ In-content forms work.
✅ End of blog posts.
✅ Footer.

Your email list only matters if people WANT to be there 💡
