Did you know that if you have these stainless steel connectors attached to your water heater and they're over 5 years old, they can start to break down on the inside and you can get black junk coming through your hot water?? So it's out with the old- and in with the new! Problem solved- yay!

With all this cold weather I have another couple of tips for you for some of the more common preventable winter problems:

First, make sure you check your furnace filters and clean it. Replace as needed every 2 or 3 months. Keeping up with the filters will help your furnace run at its best.

Second, check your furnace and hot water tank vents (which are outside). With this cold weather they can freeze over which can prevent them from running properly or even prevent them from running.
