It's been great to visit with our students participating in the Five Days for the Homeless charity! They have a nice little camp set up outside, and it is our priority to make sure they are safe while they support this important cause.

Donations to this cause can be made at the booth set up in the Students Union Building near the Food Court OR online at www.5days.ca. The students at the camp will also accept any loose change you're willing to part with. This event will end at 5:00 PM on Friday March 17.

Enclosed is information regarding our Summer Student program, pulled from the School of Justice Studies Facebook group. If you are a Criminal Justice student finishing your first year of school or if you know anyone that might be interested, please share or tag them in this post.

The Security Representative in this post is Spencer. We took Spencer on as our first summer student in Summer 2016. Spencer performed admirably in his duties; thus, he was offered a casual position in our department. Spencer continues to serve as a casual while finishing his second year of Criminal Justice Studies; he will continue his position here when he starts his pursuit of his Bachelor of Professional Arts in Justice Studies in Fall 2017. Spencer is in a great place as he is not only getting his education, but he is obtaining relevant work experience in his desired field.

If you see Spencer in the hallways, feel free to stop and say hi!

Sexual assault is complex, but the best first response is surprisingly simple – I Believe You.
More than ever, people are standing with survivors of sexual assault by embracing believing as a first response. When you start by believing, you encourage more survivors to get help and seek justice, making our communities healthier and safer for everyone.

Monday September 19th was the provincial kick off for the campaign. Let's end the stigma and support those in need.
