Yesterday, we had the privilege of witnessing something truly special—Tom Callaghan, owner of Callaghan Farm Supply and a long-time Kubota dealer, being recognized with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for the incredible contributions he's made to his community.
Tom is the kind of person who never seeks recognition, yet his impact is everywhere. Over 50 years of volunteering with the local fair board, supporting hockey, rugby, softball, and soccer teams, helping neighbours with equipment, donating to food banks and shelters—he does it all, quietly and selflessly. Need a tractor for a parade? Tom will lend one (and even send an employee to drive it). Grass needs cutting at the rugby club? He’ll donate the mower. A fall festival needs tents and hay? He’s there, setting up and taking it down.
Agriculture isn’t just Tom’s business—it’s his way of life. From Junior Farmers to advocating for fairness in farming, from mentoring young leaders to running a business where customers and employees are family, Tom embodies the values that make rural communities thrive.
Congratulations, Tom! This honour is so well deserved.
