Spider season is fast approaching!

At Bill’s Quality Pest Control, we’re always looking for ways to improve the service we provide for our customers by continuing to educate ourselves through workshops and bringing newer, better products to the communities we serve. We’ve been proudly serving the Kawartha Lakes and surrounding areas for over 25 years.

We specialize in structural pest control for homes, cottages, garages, commercial buildings, and other structures.

For the past 3 years, we’ve been using an advanced treatment product designed specifically for excellent spider control while also being highly effective against ants, mosquitoes, ticks, and a wide spectrum of other insects and arthropods for both interior and exterior applications.

Our previous treatment worked very well for spiders, but because it was oil-based, there could sometimes be concerns about staining or streaking on certain surfaces, especially windows.

This newer polymer-encapsulated synthetic pyrethroid formula bonds better to surfaces, holds up longer against weather, and dries clear which means no more oily residue, staining, or streaking. It also continues working over time by slowly releasing the active ingredient for longer-lasting protection.

The result is strong pest control with a cleaner finish for your home or business.

Today was Rhona’s last day with Bill’s Quality Pest Control & Pro-Wildlife Services LTD. after 5 years as our office administrator.

Many of our customers have come to know Rhona over the years, and she has been a big part of the day-to-day operations of our office. We want to sincerely thank her for all of her hard work, dedication, and the many ways she supported both our team and our customers along the way.

Bed Bug Awareness Series – Post 5/5: What to Do If You Confirm Bed Bugs

Finding bed bugs in your home can be extremely overwhelming, and emotions can run very high, but early action makes all the difference. Here’s what to do if you confirm activity:

Don’t panic

• Bed bugs are manageable, especially when caught early

• Quick action prevents the infestation from spreading
Contain the area

• Keep bedding, clothing, and personal items contained in sealed bags until they can be washed or treated

• Avoid moving infested items to other areas of your home
Wash and dry fabrics

• Launder all clothing, bedding, and removable fabrics in hot water

• Dry on high heat for at least 30 minutes
Inspect furniture and luggage

• Check mattress seams, box springs, headboards, and furniture edges

• Use a flashlight and a credit card to get into tight crevices
Call the professionals

• A trained pest control specialist can assess the situation and recommend the safest and most effective treatment

• At Bill’s Quality Pest Control, we use advanced products like Aprehend, which kills bed bugs within 3–7 days and continues to help control the infestation for up to 3 months
Prevent future infestations

• After treatment, consider using mattress and box spring covers

• Continue monitoring for signs of activity, especially after travel
