100 Years of Remembrance: A Walking Tour with Lindsay Legion Branch 67 🎖️

We warmly invite you to attend our final Connections and Conversations event of the year as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lindsay Legion, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion.

Saturday, October 17, 2026
There are two tours, one at 10am and one and 1pm.

Local historian Ian McKechnie will lead us through the rich and fascinating history of downtown Lindsay and its connection to the Legion. He'll share stories of its origins and highlight some of the notable individuals and buildings.

Admission to the event is a non-perishable food donation in support of Kawartha Lakes Food Source.

This event will take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. As the ground may be uneven in some areas, we encourage attendees to use extra caution.

Some Kawartha Lakes manufacturers have been innovating here for generations.

This year, one local manufacturer is celebrating an incredible milestone: 100 years in business. 🎉

While manufacturing has changed a lot over the past century, innovation is still at the heart of the sector.

Today, local manufacturers can tap into research, technology and expertise close to home through partners like Fleming College’s Centre for Advancement in Mechatronics and Industrial Internet of Things (CAMIIT) and Centre for Advancement of Water and Wastewater Technologies (CAWT).

These resources can help businesses explore new technologies, solve production challenges, test ideas and move research and development forward.
