Today in Ottawa, personnel from the NPFD participated in the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial ceremony, honouring 141 fallen firefighters from across Canada.

Among those remembered was Firefighter Donald Hymers, one of our own.

Standing alongside firefighters and families from across the country was a powerful reminder that behind every name is a story, a family, a department, and a community forever changed by the loss of someone who answered the call to serve others.

The ceremony was beautifully conducted, and the flyover by the Canadian Armed Forces Snowbirds provided an incredibly moving tribute to those honoured today.

🚑 A new approach to medical 911 calls is coming to Perth County this fall. Perth County Paramedic Services and the London Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC) are introducing the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) for all medical 911 calls.

MPDS uses a clinically driven approach to help ensure the right resources are sent to the right patient at the right time, with life-threatening emergencies receiving the most urgent response.

📞 What can you expect when calling 911?
Emergency Medical Dispatchers will ask more detailed, scripted questions about the patient’s condition and location. Paramedics will be dispatched while you are still answering questions, so these additional questions do not delay the response.
The goal: the right care, at the right time, for the people who need it most.

Please join us Sunday, September 13 as we remember and honour NPFD Firefighter Donald Hymers at the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial. Don’s family will be attending the service in Ottawa, supported by members from our Monkton station, and Fire Chief Pape.

Firefighter Hymers died of an occupational illness after serving our community for 45 years.

Congratulations to Donegal Community Christian School on the beautiful expansion of your facility!

We’re especially pleased with the water reservoir for firefighting purposes. This infrastructure is an Ontario Building Code requirement and will provide a reliable water supply to support fire suppression in the event of a fire incident at the school, church, and surrounding area.

The new reservoir has been thoughtfully designed to allow for efficient water supply operations during a fire incident, helping firefighters access water quickly when it matters most.
