Freeman Lumber

Freeman Lumber Freeman Lumber is one of the oldest family-run sawmill businesses in North America. One example being the funding of silviculture on private lands.

The Freeman family has operated mills in Greenfield since the community was settled in 1830. A multi-generational commitment to sustainable progress has resulted in the company being one of the most modern, flexible, and efficient lumber producers in Eastern Canada. The simple fact that a lumber mill has been in operation for almost 200 years demonstrates an adherence and dedication to successful

forest management. The company pays for work done to manage the land while the landowner jointly profits when any valuable wood is harvested. The program is designed to improve the value of woodlands over time. The company is ISO 9001 certified which speaks to their focus on product quality and workplace safety. As an equal opportunity employer, Freeman Lumber offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package. Freeman Lumber’s many long-term employees is a testament to the importance the company places on people in addition to quality and sustainability.
