Great reminder or my former days at Weatherford In Lloydminster, Alberta. Yesterday I was called out to a well re-activation by a customer to commission an new power unit. As it turned out it was a “new old stock” engine and hydraulic skid built around 2015 and sold as part of a liquidation sale in 2019. The engine has an electronic fuel system and is designed to allow the engine to control the fuel mixture, timing , etc for best operating efficiency. Adding a catalyst allows these units to meet EPA certification regulations. I expect we will see more of these types of engines in the future in the oil and gas production industry. I am very pleased to say the unit started and ran as well as the day it was built. If you are looking for engines to meet the new emission regulations in your day to day operations and want some information let me know.
