IS ANYTHING IMPORTANT to a Narcissist ❓
Absolutely! There are three main things that are incredibly important to a Narcissist. In their eyes, if they don't have at least two of these things, they feel like they have nothing.
Image:
The first thing that means the world to a Narcissist is their image. They are obsessed with how they look, how they dress, and so on. Image is everything to them. Sociopaths, on the other hand, wouldn't mind looking messy or unkempt because they don't care about appearance or how others perceive them. They only make an effort when it benefits them.Narcissists, especially during their prime years, are fixated on looking good and appearing to have it all. Covert Narcissists, in particular, are very careful about what they show to others. When they step out the door, they see it as a performance. Everything has to align with the image they want to project.
Narcissistic Supply:
The second thing that means the world to a Narcissist is their Narcissistic Supply. This comes from the validation and attention they receive because of their fake image. They need constant attention, compliments, and praise to feel good about themselves. They want to be loved and admired by many. They also derive a twisted sense of satisfaction from hurting and betraying those they claim to love. To obtain this supply, they deceive people into forming relationships with them. The effort they put into securing their Narcissistic Supply demonstrates how much it matters to them.
Money and Power:
The third thing the Narcissist cares about is money and power. Money helps them maintain their fake image and allows them to indulge in material possessions to distract themselves from their own unhappiness. They refuse to accept that money cannot buy happiness. So, they strive to be successful in order to acquire more. They have also realized that with more money, they can exert control over more people. They can use their financial resources to keep certain individuals in their lives. Narcissists are never satisfied with what they have and always want more. More money translates to more power, and they derive pleasure from controlling others and instilling fear."
