Warm Cheesy Shrimp and Crab Dip 🦀🧀
Sweet shrimp and delicate crab are folded into a deeply creamy cheese base with garlic and savory seasoning. Baked until bubbling, the dip stays lush beneath a lightly golden mozzarella top.
🛒Ingredients :
• 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
• 1 cup lump crab meat, drained
• 8 oz cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 2 green onions or chives, chopped and divided
• 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning or Cajun seasoning
• Salt and black pepper, to taste
• 1/2 tsp hot sauce, optional
• Sliced toasted baguette or crackers, for serving
👩🍳How to Make It:
1. Season the Creamy Base
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Blend the cream cheese, sour cream, garlic, seasoning, salt, black pepper, and optional hot sauce until smooth and evenly seasoned.
2. Incorporate the Seafood
Gently fold in the chopped shrimp, crab meat, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, and half of the green onions or chives. Mix only until distributed so the crab retains its delicate texture.
3. Arrange for Baking
Transfer the mixture to a small oven-safe baking dish and smooth the surface. Scatter the remaining mozzarella evenly over the top.
4. Finish in the Oven
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the center is hot and the cheese is fully melted. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes if a deeper golden finish is desired, watching closely.
5. Garnish and Serve Warm
Rest the dip for several minutes so the creamy center settles slightly. Sprinkle with the remaining green onions or chives and serve with toasted baguette slices or crackers.
