Just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who has supported me this past year, let alone those who I’ve seen since the early stages of COVID 19. It’s definitely been a tension filled few years!

I’m honestly so grateful for everything that has come about starting The Repair Shoppe and look forward to continuing the growth of the space together. I’m not 100% on what’s to come but I promise to keep you on your toes with my next hair dye, as well as keep you up to date with Picos shenanigans.

✨ I’m currently full for the remainder of 2021 but if you wanted to be added to my cancellation list let me know time preference to help secure a spot ✨

Cue “it’s been a while” by Staind …

Hope everyone has been enjoying the cooler weather! I just wanted to make a quick post reminding clients that Benefit Season is upon us and to start thinking of booking ahead so we keep you feeling your best.

I also wanted to ask if anyone would be interested in purchasing gift cards for the Holidays, I can order physical cards so that you can still be handing off a gift to a loved one, favourite coworker, or friend! Let me know in the comments if this is something that appeals to you.

P.S. also let me know if you want more we**ier dog content on this account ✨

Do you find it difficult or easy to ask for help?

Asking for help or admitting you’re wrong seems like a foreign concept lately which is so strange. It doesn’t make you less of a person, no one will remember if you think it’s a stupid question, and if someone disagrees or challenges you who cares. You shouldn’t be afraid of an opportunity to have a conversation.

I don’t have an issue with asking questions, seeking advice, or needing help cause common sense isn’t common. What you think varies from what your friends may think, or family, or whoever. How am I suppose to know what’s wrong if someone doesn’t help to educate so I know better for the future. We are all human in case you forgot. People make mistakes but you can obviously learn from it.

This doesn’t apply to every situation mind you, some will always be stuck in their ways of thinking. However, the best part about that is you don’t have to talk to them (if you can avoid it). You don’t have to entertain the thought if you don’t agree.

Anyways, my point I think I’m making is ask the stupid questions, seek help if you are unsure, use the resources available to further educate your mind man lol. Use the cork, tennis, or lacrosse ball to massage your body!!!!! If you know how to see the better perspective it can only be a positive change from here on out.

MONDAY MISCONCEPTION

A more recent misconception I’ve come across lately in regards to massage therapy is whether your health is considered an essential or ‘emergency’ case allowing treatment. The problem I have with these types of categories is my definition of who should come in for a massage is completely different to my neighbour, my friends, my governing political body, my parents. You know?

This past year has obviously been one we will not forget. Physical and mental distress, isolation, prolonged periods of sedentary living mandated by Ford himself. As a healthcare professional I think it is essential to be able to leave the house and do something positive for yourself. Mind you, I don’t recommend booking a massage for the sake of relaxation, but book a massage to gain more knowledge about yourself. Understand how and why your body feels the way it does. Understand how your health is an ongoing journey.

Doing DIY projects and restoring old items is fun and so rewarding, so why don’t you apply the same reasoning to yourself. The path might be a little run down, we might have to throw a bit more elbow grease in to get you back to feeling better, but remember your personal health is important and it is essential.

Today definitely feels like a joke.
I wont sugar coat it, I’m very thankful to be able to stay open through what is hopefully the last lockdown. With this I feel it’s even more important now than ever to support those who aren’t in the same place.

Being open brings its own struggles but it’s nothing in comparison to my job being taken away with one days notice. My plan to rotate through each occupation for my 50/50 incentive was/is more financially driven in order to quite literally pay bills and remain ~comfortable~ during COVID. However, this is getting ridiculous lol

I will be opening my bookings during the entire lockdown for anyone who:
1. Works in a restaurant and has been feeding everyone during this entire 13 months of craziness without getting the opportunity to be considered essential and get vaccinated sooner
2. Hair stylists/barbers who have had to take courses in sanitization AGAIN but continue to be shutdown even though they help with personal care helping you feel better mentally/physically about yourself after this year
3. Tattoo artists who quite literally use single use sterilized equipment and provide therapy for those who use their art as an outlet
4. Nail techs, eyelash techs, holistic beauty/wellness providers, personal trainers

You get the point.

Let’s find some positivity through this time and hopefully we will be out of the weeds soon! Please DM to book accordingly for my 50 minutes for 50 dollars let’s be equals incentive.

Spring is here and I’m quite literally living for it ✨

I love saving my indoor plant potting/purchases till April to have something to look forward to after those winter blues. This is my second attempt at a Pilea gifted from a very close friend of mine and I’ll admit to being a proud plant ma for this little one who’s slowly shown more and more growth since September.

I have nothing more to say about her, she just needed a second in the spot light like we all deserve. Personal growth takes time like watching plants mature, don’t fret if it’s not over night and it’s ok to take several attempts leading up to your desired results . It also reminded me that I need to trim/repot her little bebes hiding in the back. The growth never stops!!

A reminder APRIL is open for all barbers and/or hair stylists for my 50/50 incentive (super thankful this service will continue to stay open so we can all have a good trim this spring).
Please DM or email before booking in order to select the specific service!! More details in HIGHLIGHTS

Sometimes getting the perfect picture is harder than it seems, but that’s all good.
Here’s myself with my favourite plant, in front of my favourite wall in our apartment, in my current favourite outfit; there’s nothing wrong with it - I just didn’t like the way the pictures turned out so here’s the video process.

I like to try and post organically for a few reasons:
1. Honestly couldn’t be bothered to always have my phone out and ready to take pictures all the time
2. I never want to come off as forced or unauthentic when it comes to business
3. I have more fun in the moment when an idea sparks and to me that helps with any mental/creative blocks

I probably will not be the Instagram where I post consistently and cohesively as much as I’d like to, but I’m cool with that because it feels like myself on the internet. I will aim to post a bit more frequently, maybe even some stretching reels if we’re feeling fancy. For now it’s just me (and sometimes stories of the we**ie and the cat).

AGE OR LIFESTYLE?

It’s always a funny comment when someone says to me they’re too young to feel like this or it makes sense why they always feel tense at this point in life. Maybe this is really the age old question - is it because of your biological clock or lifestyle?

Take our couch for example; maybe only 3-4 years old but that’s not why she looks the way she does. It’s because of how we use our furniture everyday, how at one point we didn’t really think about taking better care of it, and life happens - especially kitty claws and puppy gnaws.

It’s ok to acknowledge that maybe we didn’t take the best care of ourselves early enough, it’s ok that at this point in our lives we are a little more worse for wear. You’re not late to the game, there just might be a longer journey for you to get back to feeling the best version of yourself. We all need a little TLC.
