We're excited to share that GEM Consulting has been selected to develop a new Emergency Plan for the High Park Club, a historic multi-use community facility in Ontario.

The project will focus on identifying risks, reviewing existing procedures, and creating a modern, practical emergency plan that supports the safety of members, staff, volunteers, and guests.

Facilities that host recreational activities, social events, weddings, and corporate functions require thoughtful planning to ensure they are prepared for emergencies of all types. We're looking forward to helping the club strengthen their preparedness and resilience for years to come.

Today we had the opportunity to be part of Bursarfest at the University of St. Michael's College, delivering an emergency preparedness and response session.

It was great connecting with staff and sharing practical approaches to strengthening readiness, coordination, and response capabilities across campus. Sessions like these are an important step in building confidence and ensuring everyone understands their role when it matters most.

Thank you to the organizers and participants for the engagement and thoughtful discussion throughout.

May the 4th be with you… and your emergency plan.

As we kick off Emergency Preparedness Week on Star Wars Day, it’s a good reminder that being prepared isn’t just for a galaxy far, far away.

Strong disaster and emergency management starts with:
β€’ A clear plan
β€’ The right equipment
β€’ Training and coordination

Whether you’re facing a major incident or a small disruption, preparation is what keeps situations from turning into crises.

This week, take time to review your plans, check your supplies, and make sure you’re readyβ€”because in emergency management, the best response is the one you’ve prepared for.

Emergency Preparedness Week is here β€” a perfect reminder that emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere.

Being prepared isn’t just about having supplies β€” it’s about having a plan, knowing your risks, and being ready to act when it matters most.

This week, take time to:
βœ” Build or refresh your emergency kit
βœ” Review your household or workplace emergency plan
βœ” Talk with family, staff, or colleagues about what to do in an emergency

Preparedness is a shared responsibility β€” and small steps today can make a big difference tomorrow.
