I am glad that this research is gaining more exposure. The good news is that medical treatment options are advancing at an accelerated rate. Gov't healthcare is not currently funded appropriately to facilitate new treatment options that will become available within the next decade. This leaves private healthcare to carry the burden.
If you do not have a Critical Illness Insurance policy as part of your financial plan, I would highly recommend you take a closer look at your options. This insurance will provide you with a lump sum, tax-free amount of money to use however you wish. This includes faster treatment options, better drugs, travel costs, etc.
And guess what? You can set up the plan to have every penny you've invested into the plan refunded to you down the road if you choose to cancel the policy.
