Cold air = less pressure, higher jet speeds
Snowy weather = less contrast, fewer visual cues

Now add maneuvers, G-force, comms, instruments, etc. —> higher cognitive load, less time to react

That’s a different game!

Looks cool from the outside.
Requires a lot more on the inside 💪🏼🧠

Nobody operates in a vacuum. You are always part of a greater envrionment which is constantly doing two things:
1- being influenced by you: that’s where you show leadership
2-is influencing you: through its rules, culture, norms, and expectations

If you want to create a high-performance team, beyond simply optimizing each individual separately, it’s important to create an environment with a high-performance system that is conducive to success.

🛑Don’t leave performance up to luck, motivation, or discipline
🚫Don’t let your team members figure it out on their own.

Motivation comes and goes. It’s unreliable.

Ex*****on doesn’t wait for you to feel ready.

Under pressure, what matters is:
→ how you manage your states
→ how you control your attention
→ how you respond to mistakes

đź’ˇYou have power over how you feel and respond to what happens to you! You can train that!

Motivation is optional. Regulation is optimal.

👀Visualization was the topic of my first Master’s paper back in 2012. I spent over two years reading and writing about it. So I know a thing or two about visualization.🤓

But what I want you to know today is that it has multiple benefits. You can use it to:
• Improve technical skills
• Rehearse tactics and strategies
• Enhance motivation and a confidence
• Problem-solve and create contingency plans

It’s extremely effective 👑 One of the Crown Jewels of High-Performance!

💪🏼🧠Performance Under Pressure Insight 9: Composure under pressure is a trainable skill.

Some athletes look naturally calm in big moments.

Most are not.

They’ve trained to be composed. They learned:
→ how to see pressure
→ where their attention should go
→ what to focus on

Composure under pressure isn’t a personality trait that you either are born with it or without. It’s a high-performance skill!

And like any skill… it can be developed with practice.
