We had some detectives on our hands today, investigating the 1911 disappearance of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre. The biggest art heist in modern history. Tomorrow we will be watching the documentary and doing a few more activities surrounding this historical event.

It wasn't until 27 hours after the theft that Louvre employees realized the Mona Lisa was gone.  The police were summoned and that's when all hell broke loose.

We are going on an adventure this year!! We will become Lindsay's One Room School House! Even though technically we will have more than one room lol. Stay tuned for updates on our experiences in learning, adventures and progress!! These next 2 weeks will be full of preparations. We are prepping our learning spaces, our materials and our curriculum.....I hope they are all as excited as I am!! This is going to be a fantastic year!!!

We focus a lot of our time at Lindsay's Play House on developing empathy. You can never start to early. Here is an excellent article on why. It's really important in these early years for children to learn, develop and foster Empathy.

A strong sense of empathy is beneficial not only in childhood but well into adult life as well.
