Developing Tomorrow's Leaders Today

06/21/2025

Adaptability isn’t just a leadership skill, it’s a survival imperative. Whether you’re leading a team, navigating a career shift, or just trying to stay sane in an ever-changing world, one truth holds: growth demands evolution.

we’re not whole till we’re the sum of our parts

imagine a team navigating through class five rapids

they need to be swift and maneuver their raft by communicating proactively and with intelligent improvisation

they need to adapt seamlessly to new challenges, ensuring success amidst stress and rapid change

they don’t view agility as just a buzzword but as the cornerstone of becoming a high-performing team

research links agility to productivity, satisfaction, and trust and one way to cultivate it lies in emotional intelligence (EQ)

here’s how:
1️⃣ build trust: psychological safety is key to helping teams thrive and members feel safe to take risks and share openly

2️⃣ communicate courageously: open and transparent communication is non-negotiable to ensure that teams can become agile and empower every member to voice ideas and concerns, fostering innovation and preventing misunderstandings

3️⃣ value the collective: it’s not about individual brilliance but collective intelligence

you can do this by clarifying roles, resolving conflicts constructively, and rewarding team achievements to harness the power of teamwork

4️⃣ manage stress together: stress can derail even the most agile teams but when you prioritize group well-being, teams can weather storms and maintain focus during high-pressure situations

5️⃣ find stability in shared values: agility doesn’t mean chaos but rather establishing shared values and norms to provide a stable foundation for innovation and decision-making, even amidst uncertainty

6️⃣ embrace accountability: agility demands accountability from every team member because empowerment comes with the responsibility to see tasks through, own mistakes, and foster open dialogue

this is how emotional intelligence can bind agile teams together, ensuring they navigate challenges with grace and resilience

when you prioritize team EQ, you equip your team to thrive in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing work environment

are you ready to elevate your team’s agility and collaborate like a team? ask me how I can help

here’s something you keep forgetting that can change your life

your self-worth is a result of your mindset

frankly, if you don’t learn to assess your worth, others won't know your worth either

sometimes you might struggle to recognize and understand your worth and how you are adding value

understanding your intrinsic value can be a key factor in achieving success and maintaining a positive, productive environment for you and those with whom you interact

but when you lack this level of self-awareness

you will likely overlook taking the right time to assess who you are in the present moment

to reflect and willingly acknowledge your
•strengths and weaknesses
•motivators and stressors
•purpose, vision, and goals
•and the systems to achieve those goals

because this is how you’ll develop a courageous mindset to push beyond your comfort, through fear and into your growth zone

to articulate your worth by communicating your achievements and contributions in a way that highlights your impact on others

to build credibility and earn their respect

to pave the way for future opportunities and growth

to motivate and inspire others through your expertise in a particular area, or your talent for problem-solving for the team and the organization

what's more, when you start to become more self-aware and understand your worth as a leader

you'll grow personally and professionally and become an example for others to follow suit

so stop delaying, ask me how you can develop your self-awareness to thrive and maximize your influence

I get it, you're burnt out, overworked and overstretched, and you know who can change all that

YOU

burnout is real, heavy workloads and deadline pressures are real, and unfair workplace practices and stressful cultures are real

we all feel overwhelmed from time to time but when burning the candle to the core becomes the norm, you have to deal with it

burnout affects your performance and well-being, both on the job and off

your burnout also impacts your team and your organization

data show as many as 62% of American office workers have felt high levels of stress, loss of control, and extreme fatigue and it's only gotten more severe with the pandemic and our new work habits because of a lack of healthy boundaries

burnout is linked to many negative physical and mental health outcomes, including heart artery disease, hypertension, irregular sleep, depression, and anxiety, as well as to increased alcohol and drug use

and it can affect relationships with your family and friends

that's why I am committed to working with people I'm coaching to find harmony and balance by creating realistic boundaries that work

the first step is to recognize the signs of burnout-forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating and in relationships, lack of focus, increased frustration and irritability, and even physical pain and muscle tension

but you can take back control

find an accountability partner or coach you trust to help you identify the sources and take action to take to regain control

so if you want to avoid living with burnout, if you want to get off the hamster wheel and start living a healthier, happier, and more fulfilled lifestyle

start building the habits to gain more clarity in your life

you can do it, and I can help you

let's talk

ever since I was a child, I've always wanted to do this

as early as 8, I had a memory of walking home after school, splashing in the puddles and thinking to myself how one day, I would tell my story to the world

I don't know what story I had to share back then

maybe it was travelling aboard my dad's Vespa with 5 siblings at once

or my first time singing on stage in a school play

perhaps, it was about living in Beirut during a horrible civil war and witnessing people die daily and later fleeing Lebanon to a small town in rural Canada

maybe it was growing up in that small town among strangers who laughed at me because I didn't speak their language and ate weird food during lunch

whatever my story then, I have shared versions of it many times over

because our stories create connections and help others relate to us through commonalities that demonstrate that we are all essentially the same

human beings who crave belonging

today, I see that story repeat itself all around me, on the news, on social media, in my community

refugees escaping war, over and over and over

it's why I continue to share my story so we can celebrate diversity and make intentional choices to include others

and if truth be told, it's also why I love to be on a stage, in front of a room of engaged listeners who lend me their ears and hearts

as the song says "we are not here for a long time, we are here for a short time"

so when I speak, I show up genuinely to share a story so people can listen, learn, love, and lead

and in the short time I'm here, whether it's sharing my stories with you online or in person, I want to make an impact to help you feel the value of creating an authentic connection with others

that's why I do the work that I do

whether I'm coaching a leader on how to inspire others or speaking to a crowd about designing inclusive and engaging workplace cultures

my goal is to inspire you to lead so others will follow, listen and learn from you, and also be inspired by your words and actions

life is truly really short, let's not spend it burning out our flame without a cause or feel the need to extinguish the flame of another so ours might burn brighter

there's enough room for us all to shine

so if you're looking to be inspired or to inspire others, let's have a conversation about how you can share your story to lead with more clarity and purpose in your life

You must see it to believe it!

Sometimes, it’s hard to visualize what you want because you can’t see what the end looks like

Having the end in mind means mentally visualizing the details related to your ideas and potential events and consciously practice turning them into concrete objects

When you have the end in mind, you enhance your ability to achieve your goal by building motivation, confidence, and courage to take concrete action

Visualization helps you concentrate your attention on
· Developing the mindset to prepare you
· Building the required skills to act
· Refining the habits that improve personal productivity

As Stephen Covey puts it, when you begin with the end in mind, you begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen.

One of the best ways to incorporate this habit into your life is to develop a personal mission statement to help you lead with purpose

When it comes to leading with purpose, don't leave it to chance

Instead, become an active participant in choosing the leader you want to be.

Seldom, if ever, is leadership just about you.

Leadership is a mindset and the ability to influence others to successfully achieve a common goal.

Leadership is not role, hierarchy or seniority and anyone with the right skills, regardless of their position, can become a leader who inspires others.

Good leaders possess a combination of various qualities, such as creativity, motivation, vision, and empathy.

Great leaders add to the list a high EQ so they are able to
✅ Adapt to the needs of different situations
✅ Consider diverse perspectives, and
✅ Build trust by involving others to achieve collective results

Such leaders don't leave things to chance, instead, they exercise the superpower of choice to become change catalysts,

Treat mistakes as an opportunity to learn without repeating the same mistake twice,

And, rather than leave a legacy in their wake, they intentionally live it out each day.

That is how great leaders achieve
Clarity to develop vision
Confidence to forge ahead even in crisis
Courage to lead others through the unknown
And stay committed to the mission and get others to commit to them.

That is the power of leading with purpose.

Will you leave your life to chance?
