Ahead of the school year beginning in September, our team was onsite at Fanshawe College conducting a waste audit to better understand what’s moving through their waste stream.

By measuring what’s being discarded, understanding where opportunities exist, and using those insights to improve waste diversion and performance, we can help turn waste data into meaningful action.

Our Western team celebrated 20 years of Waste Solutions with an unforgettable day at the Calgary Stampede!

We suited up in our western gear, proudly sported our custom 20th anniversary belt buckles, took in the rodeo, and enjoyed an afternoon filled with great conversations, laughter, and plenty of Stampede spirit.

This year marks 20 years of Waste Solutions Canada.

Over the past two decades, we’ve grown from a small operation serving local businesses in Southwestern Ontario into a national company supporting clients across Canada. While the business has evolved tremendously, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to building strong relationships and delivering great service.

Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without the people who have supported us along the way, including our employees, clients, vendors, partners, and advisors. Every opportunity and partnership has helped shape who we are today.

As we celebrate 20 years in business, we do so with gratitude for everyone who has been part of the journey and excitement for what lies ahead.

Most days, we help clients manage their waste. Last month, we spent some time picking it up ourselves.

Our teams from coast to coast hit their local parks, beaches, and trails with gloves on, picking up litter, clearing local spaces, and enjoying some fresh air together.
Thanks to everyone who came to help, and to our four-legged supervisor who kept morale high!

On this day in 2011, Ryan Young joined Waste Solutions Canada as employee #4.

15 years later… he’s still here, and still making an impact every single day.
When you think about the early days of any business, it’s the people who show up, stick with it, and help shape what it becomes. Ryan has been one of those people for us.

He’s someone who consistently brings a positive attitude to everything he does. It’s genuine, it’s steady, and it reflects the kind of culture we’ve worked hard to build at Waste Solutions.

Ryan also just has a natural way with people. Whether it’s colleagues or clients, he makes things easy, approachable, and enjoyable. People like working with him and that goes a long way.
