🚨 HIGH FIRE DANGER RATING IN EFFECT 🚨

Moose Deer Point First Nation Fire & Emergency Services is advising all residents, visitors, and cottagers that our community is currently under a HIGH Fire Danger Rating.

Hot temperatures, dry vegetation, and changing wind conditions mean that fires can start easily and spread rapidly. We are asking everyone to use extreme caution and do their part to help prevent a wildfire.

During a High Fire Danger Rating:
🔥 No open burning or campfires.
🎆 Do not use fireworks.
🚫 Do not burn brush, leaves, or yard waste.
⚠️ Avoid any activity that may create sparks or ignite dry grass and vegetation.
🚬 Dispose of smoking materials safely and never throw cigarette butts on the ground.

A single spark is all it takes to put our homes, forests, wildlife, and community at risk.

If you see smoke or an unattended fire, call 911 immediately.

Together, we can help protect our lands, our neighbours, and future generations.

We know that many of you were unable to attend Frank's funeral due to the weather and wanted to pay your respects. In honour of how much he was loved and admired, we will be having a Celebration of Life following his internment (family only) on May 22, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the Moose Deer Point Recreation Center. There will be light refreshments and we hope people will bring their stories as we know you all have at least one!
