I thought the kelpies were just an equine sculpture but they are part of Scottish mythology. The sea monsters would come up on shore and transform into a beautiful horse that would entice people to climb on their back...once you touch the kelpie you could not let go and you would be dragged into the ocean and drowned. So if a horse with seaweed in its mane approaches you....DON'T TOUCH.
