Hey Everyone! So i wanted to share a new concept that I've had in my head for quite some time now but was put on hold for over a year due to moving and having a temporary living situation which meant all my supplies was in storage. So I had a hold on making any cakes pretty much!
This is geared more so towards Weddings I'd say. I've thought of going this route for a few reasons. One being it's a huge money saver for couples when budgeting out their wedding and two, I've felt that I have had to turn down so many people and their requests in the past because I just literally didn't have the time to make that many cakes! So that said, this concept will be much faster for me to do, and again will save on costs for everyone!
So basically what it is, is a faux cake. Which means its made out of styrofoam, its fully decorated, and you could never tell that it's not a real edible cake. Its a great alternative for those who really don't need 3-5 tiers of cake! Thats ALOT of cake. I've found that at most weddings now a days, people opt to have a dessert bar and to serve actual wedding cake isn't too common anymore. Its mainly there for the traditional aspect of having a wedding cake present and of course the "cake cutting".
So couples can pick from a few different options...
Option A: To have an entire faux cake, the top tier would have a pre-cut slit in it to mimic the cake cutting for photos. This would be one of the cheaper options as its much easier to prepare.
Option B: To have all of the cake besides the top tier be faux. Therefor the cake can be cut and eaten if you wish.
Some more options to cut down on costs...
Option A: "Rent a cake". You can still design your cake only it will be returned in the end (a deposit will be necessary but is fully refundable upon returning the cake in its original condition). This option can still be fully faux (Opt. A) or faux with top tier edible (Opt. B)
Option B: You can design and keep the cake and not have to worry about returning it.
**Cake stands can be rented for a small fee and a fully refundable deposit upon returning it.
**Delivery and setup fee will apply (depending on location)
With all that said, everything is custom, prices will vary, but the costs will be significantly lower then going the route of having a full on real wedding cake from a bake shop! Something to think about for those getting married in the future or if you know of someone who is. Please share this post! More info can be provided upon request! Feel free to send me a message or email ([email protected]) anytime!
Thanks so much!
