When you wake up in the morning…. What motivates you to get moving. To get out of bed and approach the day with some excitement.

These faces right here. They are two of the faces I wake up for and I work my hardest for.

Also I just think their faces are so adorable!!

But in recent months I have learned something new about myself.

I’ve learned that I have to be one of the people I get out of bed for! I have to be one of the people I would fight for and I would do anything it takes for.

I would do anything for my family and I work so hard to make sure they are healthy and strong, smart and kind, happy and so so loved.

So why is it that I didn’t include myself in that list.

I mean correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s a problem many of us have.

You’ve got to want to do whatever it takes to make yourself healthy and strong, smarter and kinder, filled with happiness and love that starts inwardly.

Choose to be one of your reasons for all the hard work you do.

Choose to wake up in the morning and decide that the day is worth it because you are worth it.

Choose to speak kind words to others but also to yourself and about yourself.

The real journey to healing a family, a society and in turn (if you want to go big) the world, starts with a journey to being the best kind of person you can become.

I’m not talking self centered. I don’t think it should be all about ourselves now, but I do believe we can’t help others swim if we are drowning.

I’m choosing to work on myself because I love my kids and my sweet husband so much that they deserve a mother and wife who loves herself and is kind to herself.

I could go on but I will just say

You are worth it.

One of my favorite parts of this week. Matty got to learn to play chess with his papa!! I loved it so much watching them talk about how each piece could move and which ones would be best.

Matty sure loves his papa. So do I. Family is my favorite!

🦀 My littlest enjoyed some crab with me last night. They thought it was pretty tasty drowned in butter just like me. they also had fun trying to get it outta the crab. Lol. Fun times had by all and quite the workout too!! 🦀

When I was younger I was pretty self conscious about my smile. I had been bullied and made fun of so in pictures I always tried to smile as small as possible.

It was a hard habit to break. changing how you feel about yourself is never an easy change to make.

But I’ve grown to love my smile. I’ve grown to know that people often hurt because they are hurt and I don’t need to let it affect me long term.

So smile on my friends! No matter who tells you it’s to big, to toothy, to crooked or anything else!! I love your smile and I believe it should always be shared!!!

Had a conversation with my son the other day during math. He had done a question wrong but didn't know it. It was a very simple mistake but the end result was drastically different than the correct answer.

The same can be claimed of the opposite, the smallest correction that he made to his work and it made all the difference.

Sometimes that's all it takes.
A step in the right direction
A minor correction
A matter of a few degrees

You can end up in a completely different place in your life, but action, even in the smallest amount is always required first before the change comes.

You know, when I first started homeschooling I was scared out of my mind. I had absolutely no idea if it was going to work out, no idea if I would be able to rise to the occasion and do what needed to be done.

I remember the first year filled with tears, laughter, learning, and alot of parent/teacher assessments questioning if I could really do what I set out to do.

7 Years later here is what I have learned
1. every day is not going to be perfect but we take it anyway
2. we all learn in different ways
3. we all teach in different ways
4. patience truly is a virtue
5. you can do anything that you put enough effort into
6. every day, in every way, can be a learning experience
7. I still wake up some days wondering if I can do it, then I put on my big girl pants and show myself that I can!

The moral of this story, Its never going to be exactly what you think it is, but it usually turns out even better if you keep at it!
