Got an opportunity to go try our hand at some winter road hauling in northern Manitoba. They needed some extra trucks to haul in some rip rap from the setting lake quarry to a remote location on the northern tip of lake wpg. With a 6-7 hr round trip and a lot of that on a winter road at 40km/hr it’s a bit different than what we are used to! .neufeld got the call to head up and give it a go off the start. Early reports are the camp food has been great so far. Definitely a bonus when putting in long hours trying to get two loads a day. The days are numbered on the winter road before it starts melting so the push is on!

CON-EXPO is a must see event if you are in the construction industry! With 4.6 million sq feet of indoor space not including all the outdoor space, let’s just say we got our steps in. Some of the innovation and technology out there is pretty exciting! Now that’s enough of Las Vegas, it’s time to bring what we learned home and get geared up for the 2026 season!

We would like to thank all of our customers for another successful construction season in the Melita area. It wouldn’t be possible without our team .neufeld . Accomplishing any tasks from trucking and operating equipment to fixing whatever breaks down. Although construction can be tough, hot, dirty, boring, and challenging at times, it is very rewarding watching projects come to life and helping solve problems for our customers and community. Looking forward to what is coming in 2026! Thank you, and Happy New Year!🥳

We got an interesting opportunity dropped on our laps at the start of 2024 to dig a fresh water fire prevention pond for the PADCOM potash mine in russel. This was quite the stretch for us so we partnered with to tackle the project. After about 7 months of planning and going back and forth with engineers because of ground water issues we finally broke ground in September. After moving roughly 17,000yds of clay for the pond, and 8000+ yds for the access road around the pond we completed the dirt work part of the project in 8 weeks. We then directional drilled a water line into the pond and installed a hydrant near the facility. They are now one step closer to production and a very exciting future for potash production in Manitoba. Big thanks to PADCOM for trusting us to complete the work and also to the crew we had to get the job done!

This Saturday we fixed up a problem area at the Melita Communiplex. With all the water that comes off the roof it was creating a soft spot in the parking lot before going through a culvert. We dug out the soft material, compacted the gravel, and then put down a layer of crushed rock and packed it in. Should be a bit less mud tracked into the building!

This project was a challenge. We transformed a wet undrainable hay field into an 80x200 pad for a shed in the future with an extra area beside it for parking equipment. We stripped and hauled clay out of a hill or ridge that wouldn’t allow the water to get away for the pad and parking area. After getting the pad finished we landscaped the clay cut so that all water runoff will run west and eventually be all back to grass as it was in the beginning. There was alot material moved and our new packer came in handy to make sure everything was compacted properly. Thanks to the trusty crew for getting it done!

Couple before and after photos of a project we just finished. On an old yard site we had 3 dugouts to pump out and fill in to get the qtr on its way to be developed into farm land. The 3-4ft of sludge in the bottoms presented us some issues as we tried to squeeze it out. As always it will be a couple year process to get it firmed up and smoothed out properly after settling. It amazes us how big these old dugouts are, would love to see the old drag lines used to dig them!
