Audra Williams of the Rosefinch Mercantile & Tea Room, the Rosefinch Vortex. Thank you so much for your inclusive space you have made in Port Medway. I highly recommend this place for coffee, tea, homemade goodies, soups, salads......and now high tea. Port Medway, NS, is one of my favourite spots to lunch, walk, sightsee, or just hang out by the ocean at the lighthouse. Audra and her husband Haritha are such a valuable addition to this community. AND her staff!!!!!!! Love them all.

Enjoying my retirement doing good deeds like this. Thank you Tanya for being the friendly welcoming face from the Riverbank General Store, that helped inspire our move to Mill Village area. Little story....my hubby and I were wanting to slow down, downsize, retire, and move east. We were drawn to the South Shore area of Nova Scotia, between the Port Medway and Mill Village area, on the Medway River. We were sold! The community is so inclusive, welcoming and full of artsy talented people. Port Medway hosts an annual Readers' Festival that Margaret Atwood has attended. So many musicians and artists here, I knew this was the place to retire to. It was literally calling us. So here we are now, living in the bush on the Medway River on the outskirts of Mill Village and Port Medway. I'm spending my free time, when not hosting family taking advantage of Canada's East coast life, painting up barn quilts and gifting to community members who are making a difference.

Our community is AMAZING!!

We are sending a heartfelt THANK YOU to Cheryl for gifting the store this beautiful barn quilt. Cheryl painted it in our store colours and the directions are true.

Cheryl and Reg moved to our little village not too long ago and are big supporters of our store. Cheryl has been making barn quilts professionally for over 40 years but now only makes them to gift.

Our hearts are full ♥️

Yikes, what have I gotten myself into. My hubby, Reg says it's time I made him a barn quilt for his garage here in Nova Scotia. So, I designed this. Reg is a mechanic by trade and a classic car enthusiast. AND we both have the same favourite colour-blue greens, teals, aqua shades. 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, in honour of my Dad who owned one. 5'x5' in the works for Reg.

Dry, dry, dry here in NS. So I'm staying cool and hanging out in my studio designing and painting a new pattern with my favourite colours, teal & purple. "Raindance Star". Hoping for rain soon! Thank you to all the firefighters battling the forest fires.
