I haven’t posted here in a while, and part of the reason is that I have been getting clearer about how to speak about the work I do today.

The heart of my work has not changed.

I help people, teams, and systems come back to what matters, build trust, and move forward with greater clarity, courage, and connection.

Today, that work lives in several spaces: organizations, leadership teams, family-run businesses, and sport teams.

Different systems. Same work.

For several years, I have been coaching leaders, teams, and systems through the human side of growth, change, tension, and transition. What has deepened is the framework I now bring to that work, along with a stronger understanding of how people and systems move forward together.

Whether I am working with a leadership team, a family-run business, or a sport team, the invitation is often the same: clarify what matters, have the honest conversations, build trust, and move forward together.

True North Academy may look a little different than it did when it first began, but the work itself feels more alive than ever.

Thank you for being here as this next expression continues to take shape.

A meaningful milestone for True North Academy last night.

In collaboration with The Derrick Golf & Winter Club, Tara facilitated “Motivating Your Teen: Sparking Drive Without Losing Yours,” an evening workshop for parents focused on teen motivation, connection, and dignity-centred leadership at home.

This partnership began with a simple moment of courage. A conversation sparked last summer that grew into dialogue, shared vision, and ultimately, collaboration.

The parents who joined brought honesty, curiosity, and genuine care for their teens. Their openness made the session powerful.

And there’s more to come.
In early 2026, True North Academy will be partnering with The Derrick on a workshop series for one of their internal teams, supporting leadership, collaboration, and connection within their community.

At True North Academy, we believe that when parents and teens have tools rooted in purpose and dignity, and driven by curiosity - entire communities thrive.
