Cultural Resources Commission Welcome to the Cultural Resources Commission page.

The Cultural Resources Commission is a diverse group of individuals appointed by the District of Mission to make recommendations to help shape and sustain regional cultural activities. The Cultural Resources Commission provides advice and recommendations to Council on progress toward implementation of the Cultural Resources Management Plan and on those items referred by Council.

The City of Mission's Artist in Residence, Tara-Lynn Kozma-Perrin needs your help! Tara-Lynn's work will be focusing on soundscapes throughout Mission and she wants to know areas in Mission that you enjoy going to that also make you feel relaxed, connected, and happy. Please comment on your favourite publicly accessible space below. Tara-Lynn will then go to some of these locations and record the ambient sound, creating a sound map of Mission! 2021 BC Culture Days Ambassador Program is accepting applications!

Five successful emerging artists have an opportunity to receive an honourarium and production budget totaling $1000 to present a community-based project for Culture Days 2021. Eligible projects include in-person events (subject to COVID restrictions), live-streamed events, pre-recorded digital presentations, and self-guided activities. Projects will be presented between Sept 24 – Oct 24, 2021 during Culture Days. Ambassadors will also be matched with an established artist for a 3-month, online mentorship.
