Over the last few months I keep hearing
the same thing from businesses:

“I really need to update my
Google Business profile.”

So I’m thinking about hosting a free online workshop to do exactly that.
Together, in real time.

No strings. No upsell. Just one hour of actual spring cleaning for your Google Business profile.

Is this something you’d show up for? Drop a comment below and let me know.

And yes, I took this photo in a photo worthy bathroom 🤣

Honest thought on a Sunday afternoon…

I’ve built my entire career on the internet.

I genuinely love what it’s made possible
for small businesses and individuals.

But sometimes I’d give anything to go back to a time when stores were closed on Sundays, nobody expected an instant reply, and being unreachable wasn’t a problem
to be solved.

The internet gave us everything.

And somewhere along the way we forgot
that we’re allowed to put it down.

Enjoy your Sunday.
Close a tab.
Go outside.

The algorithm will still be there tomorrow. 😄

Sometimes the best work happens when you
close the laptop and show up in person.

I spent the last two days up in Penticton with one of my colleague Kendra, working with three incredible properties: and

We had so much fun taking photos and meeting the teams that our one hour tastings turned into 2.5+ hours. 😄

It’s trips like these that remind me why I
love this work.

It’s not about a perfectly curated feed or
symmetrical images.

It’s about capturing real moments,
real people, and real stories.

And if there’s a glass of rosé in hand, it makes it that much easier. 🥂

I see it all the time.

Hours spent on the perfect photo.
The right filter, caption, hashtags and music.

And then I ask one simple question:

“When did you last look at your website?”

Crickets. 😬

Social media is a tool, but it’s just
one tool in the box.

If your website is broken, Google can’t
find you.

If your Google Business profile is incomplete, or people can’t figure out how to actually contact you, what’s the point.

No amount of beautiful Instagram content
is going to fix that.

Your business needs to work everywhere, not just look good in one place.

So my question to you is when did you last audit your website or Google Business listing?

(Send me a DM, and I’m happy to help you out with any problems or questions. )

And I use the term "strategy" very loosely.

It was 2008. I was working in the music industry and someone handed me a band's MySpace page and said "Figure it out."

There was no Google course. No guru with a PDF.
No YouTube tutorial.

Just me, a blinking cursor, and the very mature approach
of pressing every button to see what happened. 😂

So I did. And somewhere between the auto-play music,
the glitter comment graphics, and the very serious
business of managing someone's Top 8...

I accidentally became a digital marketer.

Here's the thing nobody talks about, though:

The platforms have changed about a thousand times
since then.

MySpace → Facebook → Twitter → Instagram → TikTok →
LinkedIn → Threads → whatever's launching next Tuesday.

But the fundamentals?

Show up. Be consistent. Actually talk to people.
Know why you're there.

Those haven't changed once.

I've just been pressing buttons and figuring it out
ever since. 🤷‍♀️

Are you old enough to remember MySpace?

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve had a few people reach out after I shared that I’m entering “my business era.”

A lot of you said it resonated, especially the idea of moving from creating a 9–5 job for yourself to actually building a business.

That’s been a big focus for me in 2026. It hasn’t been easy, but working with a business coach has really helped when moments of uncertainty come up.

None of these changes have been revolutionary. And honestly, I laugh at how simple some of them have been, yet the impact they’ve made has been massive.

But of all of them, the last change I share has had the biggest impact yet.

I'm happy to chat with anyone trying to figure out their business (or life in general 😉) as well.

Happy International Women’s Day.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about life and what I want my girls to see as they grow up.

Not just in the big moments, but in the everyday ones too.
How I work.
How I handle hard things.
How I keep going when I’m tired.
How I speak up.
How I show up when life feels overwhelming.

Because, being a woman is a lot.
Being a mom is a lot.
Running a business, carrying the mental load, trying to do meaningful work, and still making it through the everyday stuff… it’s a lot.

I think that’s why International Women’s Day matters.
Not because we do it all perfectly.
But because we carry a lot, we give a lot, and we keep going anyway.

Today I’m feeling really grateful for the women that have mentored and supported me, the women walking alongside me now, and the two little girls I get to raise.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the women doing their best, carrying a lot, and still showing up.

I love a job that requires a spreadsheet and a microphone.

I stepped into a project management role for FVCDC to help run a full-day event (Connect + Learn speaker session + Uncharitable screening). Scripts, promos, logistics, day-of problem solving. Basically: keep things moving, make it feel seamless.

Over my 20+ years of work, what I keep noticing is this: the more willing you are to take on a role you haven’t done before, the faster your skill set expands.

It’s easy to set invisible limits and assume that because you’ve never done it before, you can’t do it. But if you’ve got solid fundamentals and a “figure it out” mindset, you can step into new roles faster than you think.

If you’ve been sitting on something because it’s new, consider this your nudge: be brave, try the thing, and see what happens… in life and in business.

Thank you to the for trusting me with their event. Huge thank you to the organization, team, and the venues/partners that helped make it possible.

I’m grateful to have been part of a day that brought so many community organizations, nonprofits, and professionals together.

Huge thanks to everyone involved that helped make this possible.
