Robert Brashler is joining Opal Hospitality as our new Regional Director of Operations USA, leading our Florida region!

Robert brings extensive hospitality experience to the role. Prior to joining Opal, he spent many years with Hilton Worldwide on the Brand Management Americas team and has also held senior leadership roles with InterContinental Hotels Group and Marriott International. Along the way, Robert led hotel operations, supported teams and been recognized as General Manager of the Year.

As Opal continues to grow its U.S. portfolio, Robert will be working closely with our Florida hotels and teams, bringing his experience and perspective to the properties he’ll be supporting.

Round one of the Opal Bowling League is officially in the books! 🎳

This September, we kicked off the Opal Bowling League, bringing teams from across our portfolio together for three months of friendly competition and a chance to connect outside of the hotels.

The teams have already made it their own, with some great team names, plenty of photos, and a bit of rivalry starting between properties. It’s a simple way to bring our people together, have some fun outside of work, and build stronger connections across Opal.

September’s results are in, and The Fairlanes from Fairfield Inn & Suites Brampton are starting us off in the lead with a team average of 129.7.

But with two rounds still to go, there’s plenty of time for the standings to change.

Will The Fairlanes keep the lead, or will October give us a new #1? Stay tuned!

Celebrating ten years of the Women in Tourism & Hospitality Summit!

Peggy, Nour and Sabarina joined 300+ industry leaders at Hotel X Toronto for the 10th Annual WITH Summit. The sessions on leadership, innovation, AI, wellness and the future of hospitality gave us plenty to think about, and hearing directly from women who have built remarkable careers and businesses in this industry was a highlight of the day.

It was a privilege to connect with so many successful women and the brands supporting them, and we’re bringing that inspiration back to our teams and properties.

Thank you to Kostuch Media Ltd., Rosanna Caira and the Women in Tourism & Hospitality () team for another outstanding summit. Here’s to the next ten years.

Canvas Moncton was the very first Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Canada, and we were the team that brought it to life.

From the very beginning, we took a blank canvas and shaped it into a boutique, art forward hotel that felt distinctly Moncton. The art filled spaces, unique rooms, thoughtful touches and food and beverage experiences were all carefully considered to create a property with its own identity.

It was a project that called for experience, creativity and a willingness to think differently. And for us, it remains a special one as we continue to grow our Tapestry portfolio.

Housekeeping Week looked a little different across Opal, and we loved seeing our properties across Canada and the US find their own ways to celebrate.

At Opal, we believe building a strong team culture is an integral part of managing a great hotel. Creating time to recognize, appreciate, and celebrate our teams is just as important as everything that happens behind the scenes to keep our properties running. It’s great to see our hotels make space for moments like these throughout the year.

We decided it was time to step away from the usual workday and spend some time together.

Our Opal day out meant escaping through a few different rooms, putting our problem solving skills to work, and then sitting down for dinner and catching up on everything that’s happened over the past few weeks. We even caught a pretty great sunset along the way!

A pretty good day out, if you ask us.
