CEC applicants, understand the difference between Canadian work experience and a high-wage job offer before November 3, 2026!

✅ Canadian work experience: 20, 40, or 70 additional CRS points.

✅ Qualifying job offer: 50, 70, or 100 CRS points.

⚠️ You CANNOT combine both. IRCC will award whichever option gives you more points.

Your NOC must also be on the eligible high-wage occupation list. Having a high salary personally does not automatically qualify your occupation.

🚨EXPRESS ENTRY CHANGES 2026 🇨🇦 | HOW TO CALCULATE JOB OFFER POINTS

Does your Canadian job offer increase your CRS score? New Express Entry changes are coming November 3, 2026!

If you’re an international student, temporary worker, or Canadian PR aspirant, understanding the new Express Entry CRS points system could be important for your PR strategy.

🇨🇦 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

📌 1. Job offer points were removed in March 2025. Under the current CRS rules, candidates do not receive additional CRS points simply for having a job offer.

📌 2. New changes start November 3, 2026. IRCC plans to introduce a new Labour Market Integration factor that awards points for qualifying Canadian work experience OR an eligible high-wage job offer.

📌 3. How will job offer points be calculated?

Under the announced changes, qualifying job offers in eligible high-wage occupations may receive:

✅ 100 CRS points — at least twice the average median wage
✅ 70 CRS points — at least 1.5 times, but less than twice the average median wage
✅ 50 CRS points — at least 1.3 times, but less than 1.5 times the average median wage

A job that doesn’t meet the high-wage occupation requirements will not qualify for these new job-offer points.
