TSSA WAIVES FEES FOR AMUSMENT RIDES !!
Dear Valued Amusement and Ski Lift Customers,
We are aware that the circumstances of the global pandemic have heavily impacted you and your businesses and created financial concerns for many. In consideration of the economic repercussions of COVID-19 and the lockdown measures in place, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is providing fee relief to the Amusement Device and Ski Lift sectors for eligible fees.
Through its oversight of TSSA, the Government of Ontario will provide financial support to enable TSSA to waive fees for the following services from May 1, 2020, to April 30, 2022:
Licences
Permits
Business registrations
Certifications for individuals (mechanics)
Please note that Ski Lift Mechanics (SLM-A, SLM-B, SLM-C, SLM-F & SLM-T) should submit continuous education renewal prerequisites to [email protected].
Periodic and related follow-up inspections
TSSA fee relief is applicable only to the Amusement Device and Ski Lift sectors for the services listed above. Fee relief for authorizations of equipment only applies to Ski Lifts and Amusement Devices. For upcoming renewals, TSSA will automatically waive the abovementioned fees upon renewal and issue the related authorizations. For fees already paid relating to the abovementioned period, refunds will be issued. No action is required by industry members to receive the refund.
We hope these measures will help you manage the financial hardships you have been experiencing due to the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
Yours in safety,
Roger Neate
