Big news: CADD is now live as a funding option on RPass.

RemitBee and Tetra Digital Group have connected CADD. Canada’s first Canadian-dollar-backed stablecoin from a regulated financial institution to RPass, our global business payments platform. It’s CADD’s first global off-ramp.

What that means in practice, a business can fund an international payment in digital Canadian dollars, and the supplier, employee or seller on the other end receives their own local currency. No detour through US dollars, which is what most stablecoin payments require today.

The network reaches 100+ countries and 100+ currencies, with over 4 billion bank accounts and 1,000+ local payout methods, bank deposit, mobile wallet or cash pickup.

Built on a decade of moving money across borders. Now open to payment providers, marketplaces, payroll platforms, importers and exporters.

Nobody tells you about this part of Diwali. 🪔

Sweets and mithai. New clothes for your parents. Gifts for cousins who multiply every year. The temple donation. Add it up and most families sending home are looking at $460–600 CAD before buying anything for themselves.

And you send it anyway, every year, because that’s the whole point.

These are ballpark figures, not gospel. Tell us where we’re off what’s the one Diwali expense that always runs bigger than you budgeted? 👇

Everyone’s talking about stablecoins. Most explanations are either three words or three thousand.

Here’s the short version: a stablecoin is a cryptoasset pegged to something steady usually the US dollar, sometimes the euro or gold. The point is that it doesn’t swing like Bitcoin, which makes it usable for actual payments instead of just speculation.

But “stable” isn’t a guarantee. It depends entirely on what’s behind it. Some are backed by cash and short-term government bonds held in reserve. Some are backed by other crypto. And some are backed by nothing but code adjusting supply that’s the design that collapsed with TerraUSD in 2022.

Our guide walks through all four types, what they’re actually used for, and the four risks worth understanding before you touch one, de-pegging, reserve transparency, algorithmic fragility, and regulators still making up their minds.

Worth 9 minutes if the topic keeps coming up and you’ve been nodding along. 👇

Happy Thanksgiving, Canada. 🍁

For a lot of our customers, this is a holiday they learned here and then made their own. Turkey next to biryani. Pumpkin pie after pancit. Roast potatoes with a bowl of rice on the side, because of course there's rice.

That's the version of Thanksgiving we love most. the one where home and here end up on the same table.

What dish from your home country has made it onto your Canadian Thanksgiving table? 👇

Cut $1 from your annual spending and you reduce the amount you need to retire by $25.

That's the whole mechanic, and it works at any income level.

A $50/month subscription you don't use is $600 a year. Under the 25× rule, that's $15,000 less you need invested. A $200/month car payment you could avoid? $60,000.

It cuts the other way too, which is the part people miss. Every recurring expense you add doesn't just cost you the payment. it raises your finish line by 25 times the annual amount.

This is why the frugality side of early retirement matters as much as the investing side. Spending less doesn't just leave more to invest. It shrinks the target.

You don't have to want early retirement for the maths to be useful. Knowing what a recurring cost actually commits you to is worth having either way.

You don't need $1 million to retire at 60. You need $174,000 and thirty years.

That's Coast FIRE. The idea is that once you have enough invested, compounding does the rest and you can stop saving for retirement entirely.

A 30-year-old wanting $40,000 a year at 60 needs about $1 million. Discount that back thirty years at a 6% real return and the number today is roughly $174,000.

Hit that, and every dollar you earn afterwards goes to living instead of saving. You still work but you can downshift, cut hours, take the lower-paying job that you'd actually enjoy.

The critical difference from other early-retirement strategies: you don't touch the money. It sits and compounds untouched until retirement.

The honest caveat, which the article makes itself: this is a projection, not a promise. It assumes thirty uninterrupted years of returns, and life rarely cooperates for thirty straight years.

👇 Does knowing the number makes it feel more achievable, or less?
