And where there isn't equitable access for disabled people, that's ableism. Ableism is systemic in design education and our building codes. It's so bad that ableism is casually acceptable standard practice.

You can't beg and plead or even dream forever.
It's time to learn from those fighting racism. We need to talk about ableism now more than ever. If we can't say it, we can't stop it.

Accessible outdoor playspaces

I was asked by CBC Radio-Canada to do 5 min interviews with Morning Shows across Canada for 12 different cities. It was intense and much harder than it sounds as a listener.

And because there were too many shows my amazing friend and then co-presenter on accessible playgrounds, Dawn Campbell, did another 12 interviews for them that morning too.

Learning from others mistakes through critical analysis of built environment policy and policies that impact buildings and spaces is what we do to help clients be successful and reach their goals and objectives as quickly as possible.

The report is dated June 5 but was tabled in Ontario’s legislature last week. The office of the Minister for Seniors and Accessibility could not immediately be reached for comment
