Can having a baby in Canada automatically give parents PR? 🇨🇦👶

This is a common misconception.

A baby born in Canada is generally a Canadian citizen, but that does not automatically give the parents Canadian PR.

Parents still need to qualify through their own eligible immigration pathway.

So before making a major life decision based on immigration advice, make sure you're getting the right information from a qualified source.

💬 Want to know about legal PR pathways in Canada? Comment “PR”.

Canada’s international student numbers have dropped significantly after the study permit cap and tighter immigration rules. In fact, IRCC says study permit holders fell from over 1 million in January 2024 to about 725,000 by September 2025.

But the story is more complicated than simply saying Canada is now “bringing students back.” Canada is still reducing overall temporary-resident numbers, while specifically trying to attract students in areas that support its economic and innovation goals.

Do you think Canada should attract more international students? Comment below 👇

$3,000 wasn't worth risking 3 years of hard work. 🇨🇦

Completing your studies is not the only thing that matters. As an international student, you also need to understand the requirements around maintaining your student status and how your study history can affect future immigration applications.

One wrong decision during your studies can potentially create serious problems later.

💬 Comment "PGWP" if you want proper guidance on protecting your PGWP and future PR plans.

Immigration rules and PGWP eligibility can change, so always verify your situation based on the latest IRCC requirements.

Same flight. Same college. Same work permit. Completely different PR outcomes. 🇨🇦

The biggest difference wasn't where they studied — it was how early they planned their PR pathway.

Before completing your studies, understand:

Which jobs can strengthen your profile
Which province may be suitable for you
What language score you may need
How your points and eligibility work

Don't wait until your work permit is almost over to start thinking about PR.

💬 Comment "PR" to learn which job pathways may take you closer to PR after your studies.

Immigration pathways and eligibility can change, so always verify your options based on your current profile and the latest rules.

Having genuine funds is not enough — you also need to clearly explain the source of funds and the transaction history.

A large last-minute transfer into the applicant's account can raise questions about whether the funds are genuinely available for the student's education and stay in Canada.

Make sure your financial documents tell a clear and consistent story.

💬 Comment "STUDY" if you have questions about your Canada study visa.

A relationship can have immigration consequences even before marriage. In Canada, living together in a qualifying common-law relationship can affect how you must declare your marital status in an immigration application.

If your relationship status has changed—or you are unsure whether you qualify as common-law—get professional advice before submitting an application. Every case depends on its specific facts.

💬 Comment "SPOUSE" if you want guidance on a complicated spouse sponsorship or relationship-status case.

There’s a lot of confusion around LMIA in Canada, but LMIA has not simply “closed” across the country. Restrictions can vary by location, unemployment rate, occupation, and application type, while certain sectors may still have pathways available.

💬 Comment "LMIA" if you want to know whether an LMIA may be possible for your current job and location.

Coming to Canada as an international student is a major investment—not just financially, but also in time and career.

A study permit does not automatically guarantee PR. Your occupation, Canadian work experience, language scores, CRS score, provincial programs, and eligibility can all affect your future options.

Before choosing a program, it's important to understand what your potential PR pathways could look like after graduation.

💬 Comment "HELP" if you want to understand what factors you should consider when planning your Canada PR journey.

Got your Canadian work permit? 🎉 Don't stop there.

There are several important things you may need to take care of after receiving your permit, including updating your SIN, checking provincial health coverage, reviewing your eligibility for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, and understanding your travel-document requirements before leaving Canada.

Always verify the latest requirements based on your specific situation before travelling or applying.
