Our team is in Halifax this week for the Atlantic Venture Forum (AVF)!

Yesterday, Doug Robertson, André Zanoti, and Ayoub Serhani attended the Atlantic Kitchen Party, the official kickoff event for AVF.

The evening was filled with great conversations, new connections, and opportunities to strengthen Atlantic Canada's innovation ecosystem. We're excited about the potential partnerships, collaborations, and future founders we connected with along the way.

A special congratulations to Shanti from Urai AI, who took the stage today to pitch at AVF and showcase the incredible innovation being built right here in Atlantic Canada. 👏

🚀 From idea to deployed prototype in just one day.

Today, we welcomed a fantastic group of founders, builders, and aspiring entrepreneurs for an intensive hands-on workshop focused on AI-assisted development and rapid prototyping.

Led by Vagmi Mudumbai and Shanthi Shanmugam, founders of Urai AI Corp. and a participant in Venn's Garage program, attendees learned how to turn ideas into working products using modern tools and workflows, covering everything from Claude Code fundamentals and authentication to databases, payments, deployment, and security best practices.

By the end of the day, participants walked away with:
✅ A deployed working prototype
✅ A codebase they understand and can continue building on
✅ Practical skills to move from idea to product with confidence

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and brought their ideas, curiosity, and energy to the room.

Special thanks to Vagmi and Shanthi for sharing their expertise and guiding participants through a full day of learning, building, and shipping. We're proud to have founders in our Garage program giving back to the community and helping others bring their ideas to life.

☕ Thank you to everyone who joined us for tonight's Founders Café!

This month's event was a special one as we turned the spotlight around and welcomed our very own host, Alicia Roisman Ismach, into the guest seat. It was a wonderful evening of conversation, insights, and stories from Alicia's journey through fintech, startups, and building founder communities around the world.

A special thank you to Alicia for sharing her experience and perspective with us, and for helping make Founders Café the welcoming and engaging space it has become.

The 2026 MedTech Summit brought together healthcare leaders, researchers, innovators, and industry partners to explore how collaboration can accelerate innovation in New Brunswick's healthcare system.

The event also provided an opportunity to showcase the incredible innovation emerging from our Venn Garage startup community:

🔹 NordLot and TensorVault Inc demonstrated how AI can help decision-makers navigate complex healthcare challenges through an interactive Sandbox experience.

🔹 Urai AI Corp. AI, alongside Dr. Sarah Pakzad, showcased the potential of AI-powered tools to support dementia detection.

🔹 EasyVolunteer helped power the event behind the scenes by providing the platform used to coordinate and engage volunteers throughout the Summit.

We're proud to see these startups applying innovative technologies to real-world challenges and contributing to the future of healthcare in Atlantic Canada.
