Most credit union leaders I've spoken with react to AI like this: "That's really going to help us, and I am not putting member data online."
Both reactions are valid. A vendor presentation slide can fix neither.
So I wrote the article that I would love to give my clients when we first start talking about AI. No selling, no buzzwords, just plain English:
– The difference between LLM and AI, and why AI is not a novel technology to your credit union;
– Why integrating your core with your LOS was slow and expensive, and why things are finally changing;
– MCP servers and their connection (with a waiter and a cheeseburger example)
– An actual use case on Jack Henry Symitar: requesting a member's transactions and getting the results
– The most common question: can we end up having our members' data being published online? What that actually depends on.
