650 airports globally are reducing carbon and increasing sustainability — welcoming 5.3 billion passengers per year, spanning 93 countries and representing 57% of global air passenger traffic.

And they're going further:
🔵 118 airports align their carbon management with the Paris Agreement, focusing on absolute emissions reductions at Level 4/4+ of Airport Carbon Accreditation.

30 airports have achieved and are maintaining a Net Zero carbon balance for Scopes 1 and 2 — committed to achieving Net Zero in Scope 3 by 2050.

ACI World and airports are at ICAO Aviation Climate Week, in Montreal ✈️🌍

Our Vice President of Industry Affairs and Sustainability, Nathalie Herbelles, took the stage at the Session on Climate Adaptation and Resilience, alongside Peter Lee (Hong Kong International Airport 香港國際機場), Rachel Burbidge, Ph.D. (EUROCONTROL), and Henry Neufeldt (UNEP).

A great opportunity to share airports' initiatives and ACI's work to strengthen climate resilience with the global community. Key messages we brought to the table:

🔹 Airports must be recognized as key resilient infrastructure
🔹 There is no one-size-fits-all solution — any adaptation action needs to be based on risk assessments
🔹 Cross-sectoral collaboration is essential, to consider resilience from a broader network perspective
🔹 Climate adaptation must be prioritized on the agenda of all stakeholders, and we must accelerate the momentum
