Some moments stay with you long after the work ends.

In Tbilisi, Georgia, I had the deep privilege of facilitating inclusive culture and United Nations’ Women’s Empowerment Principless (WEPs) workshops with private sector participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

We gathered to talk about policies, supply chains, and accountability. But what moved me most were the unscripted moments — quiet gestures that spoke volumes:

🌀 Teams collaborating across political and cultural divides with humility and care
🌀 A simple group photo becoming an act of shared visibility and trust
🌀 A soft ball passed hand to hand, ending each day to slow down together, with intention and respect

Grateful to UN Women Georgia team for co-creating these workshops and bringing folks across borders together with deep care and commitment.

This is why the first R, emotional regulation, is critical for leaders in general, in particular those committed to leading DEI.

Many of you have inquired on my approach/services, thank you for reaching out.

There is now a new article up on the ALG blog, for those wanting to better understand the kinds of the issues I have supported teams with, including:

➡️ Subtle manifestations of gender bias; folks taking credit for women’s work, speaking over etc.

➡️ Helping managers respond more supportively to complaints of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH)

➡️ Global, diverse, cross-gender teams in need of common guidelines on what respect is

➡️ Non-consensual behaviour at workplace celebrations, not taking “no” for an answer

🚀Today and tomorrow I get to present to the first set of training participants on implementing their gender, diversity and inclusion strategies!

It is 2023 folks, can you believe it?

Equitable workplaces are built on a foundation of mutual respect and anti-harassment. We all know this in theory, but many still struggle to make this real in day-to day interactions.

The Dialectic Learning Snippets team and I co-created the new Respect in the Workplace program to help teams better prevent, recognize, and respond to workplace harassment and build a safer, more positive environment across genders and cultures.

We designed the program to cover important workplace anti-harassment topics. In addition to addressing common manifestations of sexual and gender-based workplace harassment, the program emphasizes identity intersections that make certain folks more susceptible to harassment.
