Colin Stetson & Brìghde Chaimbeul's new collab album All the light in the world
Built from deep listening, improvisation, and an instinct for emotional intensity, the record merges Stetson’s innovative approach to the saxophone with Chaimbeul’s singular command of the Scottish smallpipes, creating music that drifts between drone, ritual, and cinematic expanse.
“Brìghde recorded a few melodies of mine for the score of Disney’s 2021 docu-series NASA, Among the Stars, and since then we’ve collaborated many times, recording on each other’s solo records and so for years now have been working towards this first proper duo album. Brìghde is a player of such profound patience, instinct, and technique and it’s always a joy to make music together. Particularly so in this duo configuration. This record is a raw and uncomplicated merging of our respective solo sounds and approaches, at times peaceful soaring and at others, relentless and powerful.
