Renon

Montreal-based alternative-pop artist Renon creates music that lives at the intersection of dark pop, alternative music, and jazz. Originally trained as a jazz musician, she combines infectious songwriting, powerful vocals, and theatrical storytelling with a distinctive gothic-inspired visual identity that has become synonymous with her signature pink-and-black universe. Managed by Evergreen through Victoria Vervelsky, Renon continues to establish herself as one of Montreal’s most compelling emerging voices.

Playing LASSO Montréal was one of those moments I know I’ll carry with me for a long time.

As a Montréal-based singer-songwriter, getting the chance to perform my indie folk, country, and folk-pop songs at one of Québec’s biggest music festivals — in my own city — was genuinely surreal. LASSO has become such an important part of Montréal’s live music scene, and being able to step onto that stage and see people showing up for my music is something I’ll never take for granted.

This video is a look back at my LASSO Festival 2026 experience — from the moments leading up to the show and the behind-the-scenes chaos to the live performance itself and the incredible crowd that made the day what it was. There’s nothing quite like hearing your songs come back at you from a crowd, especially when those songs started as ideas in a bedroom or on a guitar and somehow ended up being performed at a major Montréal music festival.

This year has already brought me some pretty unbelievable milestones as an independent Canadian artist, but performing live in Montréal will always feel different. This city is home. It’s where I write, record, release music, play shows, meet people, and continue building this little world around my music. Getting to share that with everyone at LASSO Festival made this performance especially meaningful.

To everyone who came to my LASSO set, sang along, danced, brought a friend, took a video, shared a song, or simply stopped by to listen — thank you. And to everyone who has supported my music from the beginning, whether you found me through a live performance, Spotify, Apple Music, social media, or one of my shows around Montréal and beyond, I’m incredibly grateful.

I hope this recap gives you a little taste of what it felt like to be there.

From Montréal indie and folk music to Canadian country and alternative country, this is a huge part of what I love about making music: getting to take songs that started somewhere small and bring them into bigger rooms, bigger stages, and new cities. LASSO Festival 2026 was another step in that journey, and I’m so excited for what comes next.
