What you may have noticed throughout 2025 was a subtle pulling back into safety.
Your story stayed inside—resting, waiting, quietly preparing—almost ready to get ready.
That feeling has a name.
Resistance
Resistance isn’t failure. It’s protection. And what are we protecting ourselves from?
Fear of judgment.
Fear that our story doesn’t matter.
Or the quieter fear that it does—and that visibility will change everything.
Playing it safe was very 2025.
As I step into 2026, I’m choosing something different. And perhaps you are too.

Real
There is no universal rule for vulnerability. How much you reveal is a personal choice—one I’ve guided aspiring authors through for years. Questions of “should” and “should not” often arise because our self-image and imagined judgment come knocking.
Let them knock.
Your story matters more.
Reveal
There is something both liberating and terrifying about revealing what we’ve held close. Fear has a way of pairing itself with excitement—and when these two powerful emotions coexist, it often signals the pursuit of something genuinely valuable.
Or what Earl Nightingale, pioneer in the personal development industry, referred to as a worthy ideal.
If you’ve coached with me, you’ll recognize that phrase.
My late mentor, Bob Proctor, often said that two moments changed his life.
The first was when Ray Stanford handed him Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill—a book Bob read for the rest of his life.
The second was when Bob discovered Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret recording. He couldn’t get enough of it.
Through the power of constant repetition, those words became part of Bob. They rewrote the programs in his mind—dismantling paradigms of lack, limitation, and fear that once ruled his life.
Earl Nightingale’s words remain my truth as well:
“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”
Revealing fear is different from simply saying, “I’m afraid.”
Revealing means allowing your nervous system to listen long enough for your inner truth and outer voice to speak the same language.
When that happens, something extraordinary occurs.
You don’t need special credentials or a magic formula. You need courage—to be relatable, to release resistance, to be raw and real, and to reveal what has lived quietly in your heart.
Fear is not weakness.
Fear is a signal.
Fear is an invitation.
Fear carries healing within it, calling you forward.
When you allow fear to become an opportunity for growth, it transforms into a new truth. Your results become you.
Results
There is inner work that comes before the book.
Writing, publishing, and sharing your story is the result of all the R’s combined.
When you allow yourself to become emotionally alive on the page, that vibrancy doesn’t just transform you—it empowers readers you may never meet, in places you may never go.
And that, to me, is the truest definition of Nightengale’s worthy ideal.
